EXCESS PAYMENT

All work-related road accidents, incidents and near misses (including damage-only ones and ones involving privately owned vehicles when they are used for work) must be reported to a line manager or another nominated manager.

All work-related road accidents, incidents and near misses will be investigated to establish how and why they occurred and to learn how to prevent them in the future. The organisation’s accident reporting, and investigation procedure will be implemented and must be followed by all staff and managers involved.

It is the driver’s responsibility to notify their OWN insurer of any company accidents for notification purposes. If an insurer discovers that a driver has failed to report an accident, then the driver's personal policy could be declared null and void, and you could struggle to obtain cover in the future. "Non-disclosure is a serious issue.”

• If you are unlucky enough to have a fault accident, then a £250 excess will be deducted from your next wage and you will be taken through our disciplinary process.

• If you are unlucky enough to have a 2nd fault accident in 12 months, then a £500 excess will be deducted from your next wage and you will be taken through our disciplinary process.

• If you are unlucky enough to have a 3rd fault accident in 12 months you will be DISMISSED.

• If you’re unfortunate to have an incident occurring any damaged, you will be deducted up to £100 from your next wage per incident.

• Failure to report an accident to try to avoid the deductions will result in disciplinary action being taken against the driver.

• Two-man crew’s deduction will be split between the Driver and Drivers Mate.

• Failure to report an accident or none completion of investigation paperwork will result in a £500 excess being applied which will be deducted from your next wage and you will be taken through our disciplinary process.

This doesn’t apply for non-fault accidents.

Your Job is at risk if you have fault accidents. If you have any questions regarding this then, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
